How to Tell If You Need Auto Repair

January 25, 2022

In our experience here at TRC Automotive Repair, many people struggle to determine when they have a serious car problem that needs to be addressed right away, or when they have a more minor issue that can be put off for a little while. Fortunately, our team has the necessary expertise to make these types of determinations, and we can help you learn to recognize signs of serious car trouble early on. In this article, we’ll go over a few things to look for in order to determine whether you need auto repair.

  • Engine Stalling - If your car suddenly shuts off while driving or idling, then you should have your engine checked out as soon as possible. Having your car die on you unexpectedly could put you in a very dangerous situation on the road, so it’s best to have your engine inspected right away to get the issue fixed.

  • Rough Idling - Another sign that you need auto repair is your car seeming to sputter while idling or driving. This type of rough idling can be caused by a variety of things, from serious engine trouble to simple issues like a broken sensor or spark plug.

  • Fluid Leaks - A third sign that you need auto repair is fluid of any kind leaking out of your vehicle. Nothing—not motor oil, water, coolant, or anything else—should ever be leaking out of your car, so if you notice anything dripping out, you should have the vehicle examined as soon as possible.
