Signs That Your Car Needs a Wheel Alignment

August 25, 2023

When it comes to driving, control is key. You want your steering wheel and tires to be in perfect harmony when negotiating that cul-de-sac or sharp bend ahead of you. Unfortunately, there comes a time when your wheels work their way out of alignment.

Wheel Alignment | TRC Automotive

This makes your driving experience more challenging and poses a safety risk to you and your passengers. Therefore, it’s crucial that you know the warning signs before the problem gets worse. Here are a few pointers to alert you when your car needs a wheel alignment:

  • Abnormal front tire wear. This is the most noticeable sign of a bad wheel alignment. Your car’s suspension system has many adjustment points, meaning a bad adjustment can create a bad alignment on one of your front tires. This will force its treads to wear out faster than the other wheel whenever you’re turning. Furthermore, you may hear a squealing noise as it grinds against your car.
  • Your car is pulling to one side. If your car drifts to one side even when you’re driving straight, it’s possible that your wheels are not properly aligned. This makes it hard to stabilize your car, particularly when driving at higher speeds.
  • Your steering wheel is wandering. When driving along a straight stretch of road, your steering wheel should be in its central position. However, if it leans slightly to one side, you might have a bad wheel alignment on your hands.

Getting your wheel alignment checked is essential if you ever experience any of these issues. At TRC Automotive Repair, we have over 70 years of combined wheel alignment experience. Get in touch with us today to get your wheels back in line.

Windshield wipers are typically made of a rubber blade attached to a metal or plastic arm. The rubber is designed to be replaced, as they can wear out or become cracked due to exposure to the sun and weather elements. In this blog we will briefly discuss about making your windshield wipers last.
