Three Signs That You Should Get Your Brakes Checked Out

April 25, 2022

While all the parts of your car work together to keep you safe on the road, some parts are more important than others when it comes to safe driving. For example, your brakes are the most important of all the safety features, as they are obviously what allow you to stop your vehicle.

Brake Repair | TRC Automotive

Our team at TRC Automotive Repair wants to help you keep this key part of your car in good working order, and as part of that goal, we have put together this article going over a few signs that you should get your brakes checked out.

  1. Decreased Resistance - One sign that you should have your brakes inspected is a decrease in how much resistance you feel when you press the brake pedal. This type of change often means that there is a brake fluid leak, or an air leak in the brake hose.
  2. Increased Stopping Distance - Another clear indicator that you should have your brakes checked is an increase in your stopping distance. If your vehicle is taking loner that it usually does to come to a complete stop, then something is definitely wrong with your brakes, and you should have them inspected as soon as possible.
  3. Pulling as You Brake - A third sign that you should get your brakes checked is the car starting to pull or drift to one side as you come to a stop. Your brakes should not be affecting your steering at all, and if you experience this kind of change in handling, we encourage you to have your brakes inspected right away.
